My name is Carly Krieg, and I am a film student creating a documentary called And She Rose-- featuring Mik Zazon and Gabby Male--who have both struggled with eating disorders and have made it their goal to teach self-love and normalizing normal bodies to women and men all over the world, in hopes of helping them heal.
This documentary is deeply personal to me, as someone who has both struggled with disordered eating, lack of self-love, and a negative body image, while also being someone who has experienced first hand, the gift of what Mik and Gabby are doing.
As I believe spreading awareness around eating disorders is so, incredibly, vital, the crew of And She Rose and I, have decided to raise money for the Canadian National Eating Disorder and Information Centre that are in direct connection with the Toronto General and Toronto Western Hospitals.
NEDIC's aim is to not only provide resources for those already affected by eating disorders, but also create preventive measures to stop it from happening to someone else. They offer outreach and education both online and in-person and strive to make their services accessible to all Canadians, no matter what their financial situation may be.
I am reaching out to anyone who wants to help by donating to this admirable cause, and in turn, offering lifesaving resources to those who may not receive them otherwise. Even a $1 could make a difference.
We all deserve help in rising above what weighs us down.
Thank you so much,
- And She Rose Crew
