Give a Shift takes place over the course of the April 30 - May 2, 2021 weekend.

How do I participate?
You can sign up as a team or an individual, or you can donate to an existing participant’s fundraising page.

Is there a registration fee to sign up?

There is is no fundraising minimum, however, we encourage individuals to set a goal of $500 and teams to set a goal of $2000.

There is no limit but we recommend no more than four people per team to ensure the event is challenging enough for all.

I’m an individual but I’d like to form a team. How can I find new people to join my team?
Ask your friends, family or coworkers to form a team with you! Post on virtual community message boards at your church or school, or put out a call for teammates on social media.

What if I’m not able to complete all the challenges?
That’s ok! We ask that you complete the challenges to the best of your ability. Pick the ones you feel comfortable with and repeat them to reach the 12-hour goal.

I can’t stay on my feet for 12 hours. Can I still participate?
Of course! Maybe there are other activities you can do while sitting that would challenge you? Or, form a team and have your teammates complete the physically-demanding challenges. We encourage you to participate any way that you can.

How do I collect donations?
When you register for the event you will be provided with your own online fundraising page that can help you collect online donations. You will be able to personalize your page with photos and stories to encourage your friends and family to donate.

What do the donations support?
All funds raised for Give a Shift will go to Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation in support of the highest-priority needs of our hospitals.

I can’t participate that weekend. Can I still support the event?
